The new Foster's project has been thought in Hangzhou realizing a new Apple store mixing semplicity and modernity in one single building.
THE PROJECT
Foster has completed a new Apple store in Hangzhou where the local characteristics are combined with beauty and technical innovation of Apple products; a new project finalized with the collaboration of a team of architects willing to create an ideal environment for the spread of modern technologies.
The building, like all Apple stores, is composed with a double glass, each one 15 meters high. The store presents two floors divided by a cantilever extended for 12 meters from the back wall and that, despite its thinness, eliminates any sort of vibration thanks to its dumpers. The consequent sensation is a sense of floating in the middle of the space confirmed by the glass steps of the staircase supported by embedded bolts.
The loft looks opaque during the day, getting well-lighted in the night giving an experience of immensity.
