FIR: QUALITY, FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS

Fir is commonly known as a remarkably eco-friendly material. It is an arboreal species in constant bloom and prosperity, so that its usage does not undermine the woodland ecosystem.

THE GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION
Fir can be found in Europe, Northern Africa, Asia and Northern America, especially on the mountains and, sometimes, even by the shore. Fir forest is the common name used to label a woodland area composed of these species.
FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS
Fir wood is positively valued for its heat-conducting & restaining capacity which makes it a relatively insulating wood to be used at any latitude.
Besides, such a wood variety is unlikely to undergo strains and vibrations, so that it is the perfect solution to those who need to properly defean their house, office or room.
SPRUCE FIR
It is one of the best building materials, both hardwood and plywood. It is especially used for indoors and outdoors products, as well as for semifactured, door and window frames, panelings, ceilings, furniture and even musical instruments.
SILVER FIR
Although it derives from majestic, slender and long-lived trees, such wood variety is generally considered as ''less refined'' than the previous one; however, it is a light and pliable material, hence it is very easy to treat and dry out.
Despite these undeniable differences, both fir varieties are widely used in green building, namely that architectural discipline meant to respect the natural environment.

" It is difficult to recognise places, but the profile drawn by the firs-
on the edge of the forest- is a safety signal".
(G.Fanciulli)
